I have a 90 model xlt. The shift pattern is P-R-N-OD-D-1, is this an AOD or E4OD? I don't have a button or switch to turn the OD off so I don't what trans i'm messing with. If feels like the trans is slipping around 25-35 mph so, i'm going to start with a fluid/filter change. Also, with either trans, does it have to be from another 4x4 model or would an AOD or E4OD from a 2wd model work? Thanks for any and all help.

mines.....p-r-n-d-2-1-....i have e40d.

no you have to have a tranny from a 4wd model. a 2wd tranny will only pull your rear wheels. you wouldnt even have 4x4 with that tranny.
