Like others on this forum my linkage sticks on my hurst floor shifter and my gears feel loose and it is not the easiest to find neutral smoothly. I am no expert on transmissions nor did i install the hurst floor shifter the previous owner did, but would like to know if there is an easy fix to this or am i best taking it to a trans shop? Thanks again.

"Like others on this forum my linkage sticks on my hurst floor shifter"

I know the column shifters "stick" aft. many yrs., but, the Hurst & Duff shifters are bullet-proof for the most part.

Having said that, that doesn't mean it's properly adjusted...or something might have come loose. They're very simple...but don't look that way, at first. I would contact Hurst....they will send you a detailed drawing & instruction sheet.

"....and my gears feel loose and it is not the easiest to find neutral smoothly."

Worst case is; maybe the problem is in the internal trans. works.., not the shifter.

"...nor did i install the hurst floor shifter the previous owner did, but would like to know if there is an easy fix"

The shifter is easy....a 1 banana job......with instructions, the 1st. time.

I would start here....i.e. be sure the shifter is functioning properly.

"....or am i best taking it to a trans shop?"

If it is, in fact, in the trannie, You can get a good deal on a re-built....it's the remove/install that gets pricy... B)
