I just started a NV 3550 tranny swap (Advanced Adapters instructions are incomplete at best). Couple of questions for anyone who has done one. 1) Is the imput shaft going to have to be cut? 2) If so, how much? 3) what is the best way to determine if and how much to cut? ****4) Besides cutting / grinding the bellhousing, are there going to be any other surprises or modifications? 5) are there any tips for making this less painful?

Thanks

The best advise I can give you is to call Bronco Driver Magazine and get their #9 issue it gives detailed install of the NV 3550. I used their advice and mine installed very easy in my 71 model.Their web site is [email protected]

Thanks, I printed the on-line article and it covers a lot more than advanced adapters. It doesn't mention cutting the imput shaft though?
