I have a 72 that has not had the fenders cut. I have taken it down to the frame and I am going back together with a 3 1/2 suspension and a 2 inch body lift. The body is going to body and paint in a couple of weeks. It is time to decide. Cut the fenders or not? I will go off road and want articulation and clearance. But, call me soft. I hate to cut her. What is your opinion?

If I could afford an un-cut EB....

It would stay that way.

With 5.5" of lift you'll definitely be able to run 33 12.5s on the street,

not sure about offroading and articulation though.

Might be about time to look for a wheelin EB!!! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Uncut EBs are hard to come by, if you have one that is in good to excellent body shape, I would strongly hesitate to cut it. If the body already has some serious cancer and has been cut up to take that out, then I would lean towards cutting her. My 72 had a lot of cancer when I redid it so I cut the fenders. With a 3.5" lift, you are only going to get a 31-32" tire under it without a body lift. To get any articulation, you will need to get different backspaced rims and you will need to flatten the inside drip rail on the fender. The setup I ran on mine before resto was 3.5" susp. lift, 31s, no body lift, J**p rims, and I was able to completely stuff 31s in the fender well without rubbing. But I stress that you flatten or cut the drip rail on the fender so you dont slice your tires and tear the fender up. Also get different backspaced rims to makeup for lost space.

Youll obviously have to decide,I personally cant stand em uncut,I found 73 ,uncut, and it took me all of 30 seconds to get out the plazma cutter out and start cutting,I feel Broncos should have been cut from the factory, you can not get any articulation ,with any thing but factory sized tires...no way with 33...or 35x12.50's or bigger.I honestly would cut,to me you can make them better than they were...best they can be...but if you want ...ALL ORIGINAL...and all that..Me,I want the best vehicle I can build...35 spline Currie with Arb...procar seats...flaming river tlit wheel, full cage etc,etc.....none of that was original.....but hey my 73 rocks...good luck...BANDIT

Thanks Guys, No doubt I have to make up my mind here. I believe that with the body in as good a shape as it is I will hold off on cutting her for a while. See how she handles. I can always cut them later.
