What is the difference between the 86 and the newer manifolds, will the 87 designed spacers fit the 86?

There were allot of carbed models in 86 it was the first year of the EFI so most were thought to be carbed thats why you see most all EFI stuff lited from 87 up :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

so the block would bolt up for me then presumably, just wanted to make sure I didn't have some sort of weird manifold.

So then the big question is has anyone used one and do they work?

Get a gasket for your throttle body, take it to wherever you are buying the spacer from, put the gasket on the spacer and see if everything lines up

The fuel injection setup on the 86 5.0 302 was different than the 87 and later truck efi .The upper intake(maybe lower intake also) and various other things were different. It looked like the car setup used on 86 and later 5.0 Mustangs , Crown Vics, and T-Birds.The horse power ratings were drastically different between the Mustang and Crown Vic so I'm sure the computers are different. You may want to check with an aftermarket business that deals with Mustangs they may be able to help you,at least be able to give some info.

well I just bought the steel for my front bumper and deer guard and holy crap steel is expensive, $160 for it all. (I have a little extra) So I don't think I'll be getting the spacer anytime soon. I've spent a lot on the bronco and tools recently. Although I found them on ebay for like $55. My bronco has the 2 barrel intake on the manifold, and the mustang spacers are a single barrel intake. The efi bronco manifolds all look the same to me, so i'm guessing it will be ok.
