Hey Guys,

I got my Bronco at an auto Auction. I've posted a few times about what I'd like to do to her, but mostly I'd like to get my engine serviceable.

The trucks on the road and has passed emissions, but there're some problems:

- compression is poor

- sweating oil

- low power

- seems to shift at weird RPMs

So far I've:

- replaced all the fluids: oil, transmission fluid, one of the differentials, rad

- replace air filter

- cleaned the fuel injectors

- added stop leak (is this stuff for real or a gimmick?)

- added an additive that's supposed to improve compression (i wonder if all it really does is gums up my engine)

I plan on changing out the exhaust for a performance one, and put in a K&N performance filter.

But all these things don't really change the root of the problem which is that the engine is OLD. And it probably needs work, or to be replaced (probably the tranny too). Other than compression problems, what are other results of age on an engine?

I wonder if I should save up until I can afford a performance crate engine, or if I should find a rebuilt engine from a less old truck and mod it, or if I should just rebuild this one.

Please let me know what you guys think.
