where does the TFI module ground too or supposed to ground too? 87 bronco 2

Ground is through the distributor body to the intake manifold. If you think you have a problem there check from the distributor body to battery (-). That should show yo if the path is good, high resistance, or non-existent. You can do that with a volt meter or Ohm meter.

tfi module grounds thru the wire harness, not thru the dist. check your wiring guide
