I'm going through my 1973 project Bronco and came across a few items I need some help with.

I have a Tank Selector Valve under the drivers seat and a Auxiliary Selector Switch on lower fare left side of my dashboard. How do these work together? Which direction should the Tank Selector Valve be in to use the dash switch? Is that how it works?

Another question.

The air vents on the hood. How do you prevent water and debry from going in? Is there a stock solution? There needs to be some sort of screen?

Thanks,

"Selector Switch on lower far left side of my dashboard"

This does nothing more than tell you fuel quanity in 'main' & 'aux.' fuel tanks. (in stead of having two guages)

"Tank Selector Valve under the drivers seat"

This switches the feed fr. one tank to the other (& I think there's an off position.)

"..air vents on the hood. How do you prevent water and debris from going in?"

Driver side is in this order.., hood., rubber seal., top of cowl., air-box with a drain at bottom..drain has a rubber hose that goes thru the firewall.

Pass. side is in this order.., hood., rubber seal., large air-box mounted on top of cowl. This air box extends down inside the fender....then jogs inward to the heater. It has drain holes at the bottom as well. They can be accessed under the fender.... & cleaned out.

"..some sort of screen?"

The screening is done by the loovers on the hood. The pass. air box has it's own grill as well. The driver side air box can be cleaned out fr. inside the cab thru the vent door. All water will go right thru & drain out once everything is clear & clean.

what ever tank your gauge is on the selector under the seat is going to point the opposite direction
Finally took possession of the '72 I had been looking at, and now I'm wondering about this fuel thing.

Which direction (towards driver side door or passenger side door) is the main tank with my switch on the floor?

Which direction on the dash switch corresponds to the main tank?

Thanks y'all.

"Which direction on the dash switch corresponds to the main tank?"

It's marked on the bezel....should be toggle "left"

"........my switch on the floor?"

HUH.? electric..? On the floor..?

Sammy..., start a new post instead of using this one..., & be a bit more specific/discriptive if you would... :-B
