Tailgate

Me and my husband bought a 83 Ford Bronco for my son for Christmas. It needs alot of work but it is what we could afford. When we bought it it did not have a tailgate. We thought that we would just go down to a junkyard and get one. No such luck. Now Friday (12-16) we are having our Christmas and we have no tailgate. Any advice?

You will have a real hard time finding a used tailgate that is any good. My suggestion is to go to someplace like Jeff's Bronco Graveyard

Unfortunately it is one of the more expensive things to replace but worth the expense. In your case you will need all the internal hardware as well.

You might try sending a PM to BLADE262US he has a few parts trucks around, maybe he has one witha decent tail gate.

Where are you located? I have a gate here, complete with glass. No keys for it though. It is not in the greatest shape, but everything on it works!

Well after we went and picked it up we found out that it is a 86 model not a 83. How much do you want for the tailgate you have. Rust is ok it will blend with the rest of the vehicle. We gave it to him friday and he is already working on the body so a little rust will be fixable. Can you email me a picture? Thanks!!

I have pics of the 86 at superford.org, just click on my username at the left and the link is in my profile. If your son is fixing up the Bronco, I think he might want a better tailgate than what this one is in. I'll be looking for some up in Austin over the holidays.

Hey guys i bought a 92 Ford Bronco and mostly everything works its in great conditon with no rust. The only problems i have is i need to automatic locks for both doors and window regulators for both doors. I Also need a Carpet for it but the first thing i want to buy is a Motor and Window Regulator for the Tailgate. If Anyone has one and wants to sale it please Email me or respond if possible.
