Here ya go;

NEW:

http://npd.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?BookCode=bor09flx#

See K; page 112 no price listed tho

Also, to price shop call LMC. they don't list it in thrie on-line catalog, but they do have parts not shown

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=35

Same for Jeff's http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/c-82-tailgate-bronco.html they show da brackets/bolts but no Torsion Rod (also called torsion bar)

I'd look in a local yard.

To search area yard for a Bronco (for parts); I use ADP Hollander BEST LOCATER MyPartShop.com - Used Car Part Search

For the rod. suggest you select Back Glass Regulator and/or Back Glass

I believe the rod is same for 78-96

Tailgate Swapping

Amazingly throughout the number of body style changes from '78 through '96, the tailgate remained nearly the same. You can swap tailgates between all of these years taking note of the following:

I've broken down the 3 major changes into their respective years.

78 - 79 Type A

80 - 82 Type B

83 - 96 Type C

If your swapping within the same "type" it's just a direct swap.

If swapping A & B you have to switch the glass and glass support brackets

If swapping B & C you have to switch latches and striker plates

If swapping A & C you have to switch the glass, glass support brackets, latches & striker plates.

Thanks for the info on the tailgate torsion spring. I had the gate down today on my '96 EB Bronco and heard a very loud bang. When I tried to raise the tailgate it was suddenly MUCH heavier....

Jeff's Bronco Graveyard sells new torsion springs for $79.00 and they are made in the USA:
FORD OEM P/N: E8TZ-9844-8900-A;
JBG P/N 34570
1980-96 Bronco

They also recommend replacing the two #34574 torsion bar brackets; $16.00 on sale now, regular $18.00
FORD OEM P/N: E8TZ-98448900-A
JBG P/N 34574

I'm going to take a look inside the gate tomorrow and see what actually broke, then order new parts from JBG.
