Tailgate outer window seal

I've read and seen the posts about the disassembly of the rear tail gate but has anybody out there changed the outer rear window seal on the tailgate? Just wanted to know what is involved so when my new seal shows up I can tackle it with the help of the knowledge pool here at the BZ.

1. Can it be done without taking the tailgate apart?

2. I see that there are clips holding it. Does it just slide down off of the lip after the 2 screws are removed?

Any info would be great.

It is held on by some small , for lack of a better term, knife clips. With the window down, you should be able to remove the old trim. Be careful with the new trim, it is easy to bend it and if you do, that pretty much trashes it. You will see how they clip into the slots in the tailgate. Get them lined up and started into the holes and gently push them in them in.
