Rookie Question: I am trying to replace the king pin bearings on my 70 Bronco with a Dana 30. My question is, what all must I remove to get to the king pin? I thought I could slide the bearing caps out of the top and bottom, but they appear to need some force applied from the inside. Do I need to remove the hub, axle, what else?

Thanks,

Reb.,

There's an inner & outer hub bearing., etc......, then there's a bearing & seal in the back of the spindle that is often neglected.

Point being., if you're going that far.., it may be wise to do it all at once.

Also., the kingpins usually req. a kit.... i.e. cup, race, damper, washer, bearing & seal...& poss. a shim pac.

(4 kits req.)

Also., a good time to take a close look at the axle U-joints.
