hi, im having a problem with starting my bronco, its starts up just fine when its cold, just after it warms up it dosent like to restart (after 15 mins drive). i thought it might have been the roter or the coil, i replaced both of them and that just fixed one of the problem (it randomly dieing). i think it could be the starter going out but not 100% sure, when i try to start it, it dosent want to roll over, like the battery is deing out, but the battery is just about fully charged.

i have an 85 full size with a 351 5.8L

so any feedback would be helpful.. thanks

I would start by checking all the wires and connections going to the starter. Make sure they are all connected like they should be and they're all tight. Replace any wires that are going bad or just look crapy.

http://broncozone.com/forums/index.php?sho...&hl=starterMaybe this will help you out a little. Hope you get it figured out soon!!
alright, sorry for the long delay, been having other stuff to do so havent had time to get it all done and figured out, the timing was not off, so that idea didnt work, so i tryed to start replaceing just about anything to do with the starting of it, i knew the battry was good, so i replaced the starter cylinoyd* (sorry, not the greatest speller)( the part that has the positive battry cable that gos to then to the starter) (also because it was cheapest), nothing seem to work any diffrently, so when it was hot, i was getting agrivaded, so i hit it, and... it rolled over with out a problem :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> , so i ran to the nearest auto parts store and bought a new starter, then i ran in to another problem, a bult was striped from the privious owner, it was so striped and tight that we tryed to use jb weld in a socket, and it wouldnt hold, so we took a saw and cut the washer out. once we got the old starter out, put the new one in, ran it for about 45 mins, turned it off, and.... it started right back up :D/ so all was wrong was the starter was going out :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

thats great you got it fixed, i had a similar problem but mine ended up being a bad ground wire, not the wire itself, where it was attatched too. So in the future if you have more problems check that as well
