For the past month my truck has not been wanting to start at all when i turn the ignition. I have replaced the ignition, starter, solenoid, voltage regulater and still i have to jump start it from the solenoid. I have no clue what this could be or where to even start looking. I was told it was the starter switch which is in the column. I took it apart and couldnt find it. I need some help this is my means of transportation.

Thanks, AT

I would check the battery cables, too. While they may look fine, they can rust inside the rubber coating, and not deliver enough charge to start. The - cable also needs a good ground. Seabronc has posted some wiring diagrams for the iginition circuit in other threads, Might search for those or contact him. JSM84

the starter switch will be located ont he column itself, more down twards the fllor where the column meets the firewall, its held on by a couple of bolts and has a metal rod going into it that pushes down when u turn the key forward> its pretty much located under your dash. All you have to do to get it out is unplug it, remove the bolts first, and then carefully remove the rod (it should just pop out) but be very careful not to bend iy, sounds to me like thats most likely your problem. Re-assemble in reverse order, good luck :)>-
