squeak 1977 auto 302

I can't for the life of me figure out a squeak when I accelerate. I lubed the speedometer cable. I took it out lubed it and squirted lubrication down the cable. same loud squeak. it sound like it's coming from the area where the cable connects underneath.

Joe,

If it's coming from the area where the speedo cable connects, I would suspect a dry u-joint now that the cable is lubricated.

i'll give it a try. Thanks for your help. im a new bronco owner. i live in austin texas. i have a 77 ranger. lots of rust. working on finding a body shop to help patch or replace the rusted areas.
