Hey all,

Ever since someone gave me my bii, the speedometer has been posessed. It seems like generally, when it rains or when it's cold, it just goes crazy. When i'm doing 45 it says 80. Is this a problem with the speedometer head, or possibly cable. The needle is wavy when accelerating and I was told that was a bent cable, but I didn't think a bent cable would cause the needle to go crazy when it's cold or raining. Also, I'm pretty sure I have a short somewhere because my lights act crazy when it rains. Do you think the short has anything to do with the speedometer? It's worked most of the summer, but now it's acting up again and I feel like doing something about it for a change.

Sounds like the speedo head is bad. Was a common concern back when i started wrenching for Ford in 1991. The light thing may be a bad ground ,could use some more info. on that one.
