I have a stock 92' 302 auto with push-button 4wd and my transmission stalls slips and skips and its gotten consecutively worse sincei've had it. Now i have money to fix it.....is there anything else it could be besides transmission? If it is transmission...what is my next step? Take it to a shop and get them to rebuild or replace (whats the diff. in those two?)? And how much should I expect to pay for a rebuild or replacement? Any info will help...thanks

well if the trans is stallling, skipping, and slipping, you answered your own question. to rebuild it, your looking at around 1500 for an OEM rebuild, or closer to 3K for a built, aftermarket rebuild. either way you go, avoid chains. try to find a reputable local shop to do the work for you
