I'm swapping an unmolested low mileage 1984 302 from an F150 into my 74 Bronco. While istalling a timing chain set I noticed the 1984 does not have an oil slinger on the crankshaft stub but my 74 does. Should I use the 74 slinger? Does the 84 302 need a slinger? It appears the 84 survived fine without one, although the timing chain was really loose! I need advice!!

Your 84 shouldn't need an oil slinger. Ford stopped using them sometime in the mid 70's. I went through this dilemna when I rebuilt my '76 302.
