Hey all- Just got a 94 Bronco, my first "big bronco", and was wondering how much of a pain it is to remove the factory hardtop? I'd appreciate any info from anybody who has done this before! Thanks

The hard top bolts to the truck, remove the inner trim to find the bolts. Get a buddy to help remove the top, its heavy and awkward.

You will progably have a connector to take apart for the hight stop light also. There may also be tamperproof Torx bolts to remove. Sears sells the tamperproof bit, it is a Torx bit with a recess in the middle to alow it to go over the *** on the bolt.

Good luck,

:)>-

Welcome & GL with the Bronco!

btw, Froggman has a great remocal write-up for later years such as your 94; which differ from earlier yrs bec. of bolt types and sizes, etc.

I would recommend having a rachet and and a cordless drill because the bolts have a tight thread on them and you will be twisting all day without it. After you take it off the first time I would go to a four clamp system like they use on truck caps and only replacing the horizontal bolts for faster on/off.
