Removing 79 Bronco Grille

I was going to remove the grille today in my 79 Bronco to paint it black but I couldn't get the plastic tabs to release. My 79 pickup has screws holding the grille in. I guess the tabs are factory? How do you get them out without breaking them?

There not screws. They are a push in "button" that expands the tab out once pushed thru. From the backside push the "button" out and it will release.

Ok thanks for the help. Was this the way they came factory? My 79 Pickup doesn't have them, it has screws.

Yes, that is how they were originally.
