I recently removed the window frames and filled the window groove in the doors of my 73. I plan to cut the frames and add a piece of strap on the bottom. My plan it to have a set of door frames that I can bolt on and off anytime and leave the lower half of the doors. I hope to find a cover shop that can make some zipper windows from the same type of material that my soft top is made of. I think it will look good. Has anyone heard of something like this? Maybe someone sells them the way I have descibed. Will it work?

I don't think anyone makes anything like that. I have heard of others doing something similar but no one that I know of manufactures it. I should look pretty good if whom ever you have skin the tops does a good job. I would be curious to know what kind of material they use that will stand up to the elements. I don't know if marine leather is good enough or if that is what it should be made of. But if you do it, please let me know what the materials used for everything is. I am curious because I was thinking about making some soft doors for myself.

If you're just talking about removeable door frames some Broncos had it stock and can still be found. They unbolt and are worth more than a standard door. Then you can get a top that includes the window area like in the new Wilshorses catalog.

I'm not familiar with the wild horses top that has the window area with the top. I will check it out. I'm looking for the same material used to make the soft tops. Does anyone knows where I could find it?

Not sure but those doors are slightly different in those 2 years from the rest. I've seen plenty of removeable frames on later years, I believe it was just as option. Its a nice option to have them and are worth much more than a standard door.
