Replacement (many photos) by Dustin S http://ylobronc.users.superford.org/tailgate/tailgate.html

Scroll to "The only things left inside the tailgate are the two window runners, each is held on by two bolts. On one of my runners, a mount was rusted off as shown in the picture. This allowed the window to sit crooked in the tailgate and did not allow it to slide up and down easily."

He gives a lot of tips incl how to support the glass; we made sure the tailgate was down horizontally as far as it would go, then pushed it, measured lowest point from ground and placed a swahorse under it with a blanket folded to make up the space.

You don't need to do all he wrote about, but it may be good to clean things up in there during this Spring weather.

more info here;

Window Mechanism Fix by ORC Staff at ford.off-road.com

and as Dustin wrote; they advise;"...Window regulator assembly has a strong helper spring. If the regulator arms are not against the stops they could snap there at any time causing injury and damage. Be careful..."

yo Seabronc!

I did what I usually do, go on and on and on while you were replying...lol

I forgot I posted that, thanks!

It's easy to do yourself, but Ford has insurance if anything breaks. I fixed my rear window with a few tools, and some supports. I replaced it for less than a hundred at this guy's shop, and it was a much nicer experience.
