New to the group

Just purchased($500) a 95 XLT Bronco, 351W , E4OD, 235k miles,

engine and trans are sound no leaks, no smoking,

this was a farm truck, sat for 3 years

body has some dings and rust

Rear window was stuck about 3 inches from being closed,

spent a few hours and managed ot get the window down and tailgate off

regulator tracks were badly rusted local salvage yard located those parts

regulator rollers are on order from the local Ford dealer

window motor is working still is a problem somewhere in

the wiring from the front switch to the back

bottom of the tailgate is rusted out in the middle

inner regultor support brackets of course rusted away at the bottom

I got creative with 1x1 angle , 12ga sheet metal and a MIG

should hold for awhile until I can afford a new tailgate

Has the push buton 4x4 and low range neither are working other than it turns the light on the dash on.

Front springs are severely compressed.

(had a snow plow on the front no plow but wiring and mount are still there)

Air bag and check engine lights have a mind of their own blink stay on or off at whim.

possible knock sensor and 3 year old gas for the check engine light

and have a 91 P72 Crown Vic with the same problem concerning the airbag light.

Gas tank leak no big deal there have repaired several 250's and 150's with that problem.

driver side seat currently has a box behind it to stay upright

figure disasemble the seat and repair and reinforce the seat frame, done this on a few seats now seems to be a common problem.

drive shaft U-joints heard a clunk after initial start up when put in gear

Sounds like an awsome project truck or a good beater. Good luck with that!

Where do you want to start? Is the front windows power or manual? When you push the 4x4 button do you hear the trans case engaging? Let me know where you want to start and I will help as much as I can. I have a 93 XLT and a 94 XL and work for FORD. I am currenlty rebuilding my 93 but I am putting the old style manual 4x4 shifter in instead of the push button system. --Vince

front windows are power

I can hear the motor engaging when I push the 4x4 button and again when I hit the low button

may be the auto lock hubs never had much luck with those

I'll be crawling around on the Bronco more this weekend

the F250 radiator decided to spring a leak today

and it takes priority over the Bronco right now

Found the problem with the 4x4 and low,

cleaned and greased the auto lock hubs

and cleaned the connector for the actuator motor.

Major items left are fixing the gas tank and front springs,

then comes seat repair.
