I have a ten pack 5 in lift in the rear and It sits stink bug with the 5 inch front springs and my old rear springs flexed much better. How many leafs can i take out or should take out too make it flex and sit level?

If you take out any more it will sag more because of the weight, but the flex will be better. The new Cage leaf springs only have 9 leafs, but they are designed that way. The only question I have is what coils do you have? Do you have the heavy duty ones designed for a winch & 351 or the ones that were made for the no winch/302?

I am sure I have the 5.5 springs for a 302 without a wench, but I have a winch and a heavy bumper and lights on the front, I actually have an eleven pack.

I put all the doors and tool boxes and spares and cover on and a full gas tank 22 gallon and two people and measured the sag It only saged 3/8s. I would like to drop the rear two inches so I am thinking 4 leaves 1 and a 1/4 and the remaining springs might give me another 1/4 and they might actually start too flex...

Any of this make sense?

Thanks B

I would start out with just taking 2 leafs out at most. More than that and it might cause really poor road maners and make the vehicle less than what it should be, performance wise.

Ever consider installing the heavier front coils for the extra weight of the front winch?

The truck is strickly offroad, so flex is more important than going down the freeway. When I got the truck I used the stock five pack with load spring removed and 2 in block and 3 1/2 front lift coils. I only went too the 5 inch lift too stop bottoming out hard when I ran fast through the desert. On the 11 pack leaves the first three leaves are so short they are almost only blocks haha . Front hd springs was a good idea though! I am trying too compromise center of gravity with highth and flexy travel. Thanks

I also have a two inch body lift so its plenty tall and its cut front and rear huge and no inner front fender wells

Well, if it is strictly off road, then why not take out 3-4. You can always put them back in. I don't think i would bother with the HD springs up front because they (typically Rancho or Pro Comp are your "Heavy Duty") are very rough. If you want the best bang for flexing & performance (aside from a 3 or 4 link) I might look into getting a set of Cage coils/leafs. They are expensive (leafs, the coils are avg. priced), but there isn't another set of springs that will performe like them.

I guess I needed to explain better, we are on the same page now, but at what point should I just take out the bottom leaves out vrse everyother leave too make the rear land nicer after a rock or speedy whoopdy?

BC Broncos sells coil springs from stock to 6.5" with or without a winch. BC sells the thicker 9 pack leaf rear springs similar to cage.
