I am having trouble bleeding my rear brakes. First a little back ground. I switched the frond end off of a 76 into my '73. The rear end stayed the same. I replaced all the brake lines with new SS lines. The proportioning valve is off the '76. When I tried to bleed the brakes nothing came out of the rear lines but the front bled OK. I removed the prop. valve, cleaned it and used air to blow it out. I also blew out the lines to make sure they were clear. Still nothing. Before hooking it all up again I checked for fluid coming out of the prop. valve for the rear lines and nothing. Is the valve bad? Is the M/C bad? And this may be a dumb question, but which resevoir serves the rear drumb brakes?

I hope I am makeing sense. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

the smaller of the two basins is for the rear brakes. as for no fluid are you getting fluid to the prop valve. if not you might want to tear down the m/c bench bleed it and start over. it might be easier in that case to just get a new m/c. if you are getting fluid out then reason would point to the prop valve. hope it helps.

Hi Just a thought most vehicles with disc brakes have a larger side to the mc. Because disc brakes take more fluid to work. Did you change the mc when you put the 76 front end in?

Yes, the MC and the power booster are from the '76. So based on your question I assume the large side is for the front brakes?

Thanks
