The blue radius arm bushings on my '74 EB located at the rear bracket attachment are falling apart and I need to swap them out with some new ones. Should I replace them with black rubber ones versus the blue teflon(plastic like) ones that are crumbling? How difficult is this to do? Do I have to pull the entire front axle down and forward to remove the old bushings and to install the new ones or is there an easier method? Any suggestions or "tricks" would be appreciated.

Bernie, the blue (or any colored) polyurethane bushings will improve handling

over the black rubber bushings, but they can limit suspension travel (articulation)

If you use your truck primarily as a driver, run the poly, if you plan on wheelin more than

pavement use, go with the rubber.

I have been able to do the swap without tearing down the whole front end. Make sure you have

A tall enough pair of jack stands to properly support the front of the truck. Leaving the tries on will help you roll the diff away from the frame mounts. Reemove both sides at the same time, having a friend around as a helper will make the reinstallation easier.

Good luck.
