I have a 66 EB with a 351W and I just installed a new Duff 4 core aluminum radiator. Now there is not enough clearance for the fan. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? If I change the water pump to a shorter clearance one, the pulleys will not line up. Also I am not even sure an electric fan will have enough room. If I install an electric in front of the radiator I am worried about overheating when I'm wheeling in the summer. Thank you for your help in advance.

You can get fans that are "pushers" or "pullers" some are both. Get an electric fan that can be used as a pusher, you will have no problems. As long as the fan is big enough of course. I put a 347 stroker in a Ford Ranger with a pusher fan, That thing had 450 horsepower and never overheated. Another plus is you can go through deep water and shut your fan off and not blow water all over your engine.

Its thicker? I don't remember it being much thicker. What I remembered was I had a hard time getting it to fit into the radiator hold down clamps. Had to modify them and it fit. Doesn't sound like this is your case though.

Yeah I had to modify the lower radiator brackets that are welded on. After I had the radiator installed the hood would not close. I called Duff and sent them digital pics. They said my truck must have came with a 6 banger and that when the previous owner installed the 302 that was in it that he had welded the l-brackets for the radiator about 1.5 inches too high. I cut those out and welded a steel plate across and then mounted the lower radiator brackets to that.

The distance from the inside of the radiator to the studs holding the water pump pulley is about 1.5 inches. I don't think I dare even trying to fit a fan in there in fear of it hitting.
