quarter panel removal

can anyone show me any kinda of pics in how many spot welds there are for the quarter thinking about replacing mine but im not sure if I should do that or just buy some patch panels

Here is a link to some pictures of doing it on my truck http://www.supermoto...istry/212/76163 .   The tricky part is at the seam just behind the doors, I think the pictures cover the tools used and how I reattached the new ones plus a little advice about measuring.  It wasn't a quick and dirty job as you will most likely find other rust problems as you go.  Also you will need new wheel housings, (see #3 in the bottom illustration), http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/FC/full.aspx?page=10 .   There are lots of pictures of the entire job.  If you have any questions just ask.

Also, if you have it in you, I would do the entire quarter panel.  Patch panels will only delay what really needs to be done and you won't discover other things that need to be repaired as well.  Just look at some of the other sections of the body work on the Supermotors site.  All the body work was done twice, once as a quick and dirty and then the second time to get it right and take care of all the bad areas.

well im thinking about cutting the wheel arch with the measurements of the patch panel and inspecting it from there as of now it needs wheel arches and bottom rear corners on both sides

thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated but also I don't think my bronco is in that ruff of shape but I will check the places you said...you can never be to sure my rear floor is completely solid and drivers quarter is perfect minus the rear corner on the bottom and its has a couple holes in the wheel arch but the passenger side is a different story in has some bondo and it needs both the wheel arch and the rear corner pretty badly

We always like to see a plan come together so take lots of before and after pictures.  You can start a separate Work in progress thread to share them on.  Don't get discouraged, I almost trashed my truck a few times but kept going with the encouragement from a friend who is a car restorer.  My project kept the truck off the road for about a year and a half working on it part time and not working at all in the Winter.

well theres where im good cause im trying to get my bronco done so I can drive it in 2 years cause I cant drive yet...but ive done lots of work already...got about 4000.00 into it now and its almost done...4" lift with 35x14.50-15 tires

If you haven't already done it, you will need to change the differential gears to match those tires plus beef up the running gear due to the added torque which under high torque conditions will most likely snap U-joints, axles or even the drive shaft.

plan on it just being a road vehicle so I don't think I should really have to worry about that although im thinking about adding traction bars
