I recently swapped out my original rear axle (89 B2 7.5 w/ drum brakes) for an 8.8 axle from an 96 explorer with disc brakes. Everything is working fine except there doesn't seem to be enough pressure at the rear brakes. The rear ABS sensor is the same from the 7.5 to the 8.8, and I though about getting an adjustable proportioning valve, but I would have lose the sensor.

Do I need to get the p. valve from a 4 wheel disc brake explorer or bronco with the same sensor? Or, is there something that needs to be done with the stock valve?

Thanks

When switching from drum to dics brakes you have to get the proper disc/disc proportioning valve.

Rather than guess if one will work from another vehicle, contact Inline tube (www.inlinetube.com) , or SSBC (www.ssbrakes.com).
