Hi, i been having this problem and its really annoying me, i have a 1989 ford bronco 2, 4wd but i got it changed from 4x4 to 2wd along time ago, and recentally from the back axle theres this loud poping noise everytime i press on the gas, and i though it was the bearings at first so i replaced all the bearings and found out that there were bearings in my back axle just free of the brace, and i fixed my bearing problem, and i took it out for a test run and the noise was still happening, and now my truck is over heating like crazy (another problem) and its so embarrising driving around you can hear it half way down the street (the poping noise) any suggestions? HELP PLZZLZLZ

Sounds like axle wrap....if it does this after an agressive stop, check the slip-joint on the dr. shaft. It may be sticking at "stop" & popping loose as you take off.

Weak rear spgs. & a worn slip joint could be the culprit.

Flush cooling system.... change thermostat. check timing.

i mean like its a sealed driveshaft and i want to know if i can like spray some WD-40 down in it to see if it stops, because once the truck is in park, and u push it and u put ur had on the drive shaft, it feels like somethings inside of it like a huge group of headbangers hitting the inside of it at once, and its weird, but it doesnt make that cracking sound when in reverse, see i think its bad because its a 1989 ford bronco 2 and its a v6 and it pulls boats twice its size at a nice speed, but i think it messed the drive shaft up.

a bit of diesel fuel and alot of perfume? that makes what? and another question, im afraid that once i take the seal off, it will mess it up, and wont be driveable again with the same driveshaft, and i dont want that to happen because its the only transportation that i can use atm.I'll look around on the web to find a driveshaft that looks like mine so i can give u guys a look at what im talking about.
