I was in the process of saving for a lift kit and tires( 4 inch rough Country and 33 BFG AT) when a Rancho 6 inch lift with the extended radius arms ploped into my lap. It came of a '96 F250 2WD. I cheked out rancho's website and found out that this lift fits all 1982-1996 F150 and F250 2wd/4wd and the bronco :)>- I don't have the shocks for the lift and need to purchase those but I was curious do I need a Drop Pittman arm? I see tem advertised but they don't exactly go with the kit they are an option what gives?

You must use a drop Pitman arm with a 4" or 6" lift kit.The drag link attaches to the steering gearbox thru the pitman arm on one end and thetie rod ends on the outer ends. Without the dropped arm, the angle is very severe on the drag link and will make alignment very hard to do a well as hurt the steering. Most kits do include the dropped arm, but you can buy it separate for about $90 from Skyjacker or any of the lift kit vendors. JSM84
