Pb Booster

i have a 76 with pb and the brake pedal will not rise once it is pressed therfore locking the brakes on. i have to manually pull up on the pedal to release them.the calipers and wc and mc are 1.5 years old.i am thinking it is the booster as that is original.any suggestions before i purchase one.also i have lubed all the brake joints behind the booster.

What shape are the brake shoe return springs in? Did they get real hot at any time?

try disconnecting the vacuum line to the booster and see if the brakes release.that would indicate a bad valve in the booster.
