As you can see from the photo, my 83 bronco has been spray painted camo. This spray paint was applied over the stock paint job without any preparation. Can anyone tell me how I can remove the sprayed on camo paint without damaging the stock paint underneath. The paint underneath is actually in good shape. The previous owner thought he could sell the broco faster as a hunting lease truck if it was camo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, but no. Your best bet, if you have tons of patience @-) , would be to carefully wet sand the camo till you get down to the other paint. Then, if the other paint has not been rubbed through, you could do a final wet sand with something like 1200 or 1600 grit and clear coat it again.

I wouldn't look forward to such a project. Personally, I would just strip it and start over. Why not let a body shop have all the fun.

Good luck,

:)>-

some auto stores sell graphity off ( not sure if I spelled that right), see if that works, it is supposed to take off spray paint without harming anything else. I have used it before and it works pretty good.

Yeah I would just sand blast the whole thing, fix the rust spots, then get a whole new paint job. Maybe two tone it.

If $$$ won't allow that right now, and you can't stand the camo..I'd just sand it, then get some house paint and paint it lol Roller an all! I'd rather have an all black bronco with a crappy paint job then camo..tacky
