From the extra pictures that he has on his google site, that thing has been in a front end collision (img_7108) and the cosmetics have been fixed but the insides haven't. There is more rust than he is truely advertising and the lift is not a Duff lift, it is a Rancho lift. ALL Duff lifts have Duff shocks, not Rancho shocks, & the coils from '95 were powder coated blue. Picture DSC03932 shows the flare is cracked in a couple of spots and has been painted over. The roll cage looks to me like one of the Smitty Built rear hoops with an added front spreader in it. Personally, what I see is a Bronco that was rebuilt 12 years ago and someone is trying to pass it off as a freshly rebuilt rig. For $9500-10k, I would expect a lot more than that. Personally, I don't think I would give him more than about $6-7k for it. And if it were here in Colorado, you can knock another $500-1500 off the price tag depending on how much stuff is being covered up with the diamond plate & paint. Just an FYI for you too, the price of EBs has come down recently....to give you an idea, that price he is asking wouldn't have been out of line a year ago if it truely was what he is listing it as in his CL advert.

My EB is covered by insurance for $15k but there is no way possible I could get that amount for it because of the rust I have under the paint. If I didn't have the rust, I could easily get that..my sig line has a list of the more important things installed on my rig, but not everything that adds to value.

I hope that helps you out, but I could build a much nicer rig with a lot less to work with for $10k...so could you unless you want to just jump into one right away.

Good call Bolt! The description says daily driver, trails and dunes....so is my 3/4 ton. Even if the engine runs good ,that doesnt mean its all around bad ass, the suspension is obviously out dated like Bolt mentioned and that is probably 70% of a good 4x4. When I buy vehicles I look for the condition of the things that I cannot fix myself such as body and paint. If you are mechanical than this Bronco is worth more to you. If you would rather dump money in paying someone to repair it, I would start with something better. Overall this guy really wants to sell this Bronco even if there is a little b.s. involved. It looks nice but Bolt is right

Bolt is right, it hit something in the front. You can tell by the wrinkling. I dont know why he would post that pic. It mostly looks good, nice seats, too much diamond plate, dont really know what is behind that.

how about this one?
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/530357772.html

its on the expensive side but looks pretty nice and clean and original. looks like he needs to sell it so i'm sure i can bring him down in price. what would be a reasonable price for this is everything looks good?

Now that one is a sweetheart little Bronco. That is one that you don't cut the fenders and you leave it completely original. I would say that $17500 is a little high, but it isn't as out of line that the other one is. I would think that more in the $15k range is appropriate. If you keep it in that condition then it will only appreciate in value. I couldn't tell, but it looks like it has front disc brakes to go along with the vacuum brakes & power steering, both of which would run you close to a grand each to have installed. If you have $12-15k cash, I would start at $12 and wave that in his face and work up from there. If you got it for $12k they you better buy a lottery ticket, but if you had to part with $15k you still can smile.

If you want something to build to your own standards, let me know because I have one I am looking to unload....just PM me if you are interested.

thanks for all your help. I would love to build one but....a) i don't have the experience..which is not that much of a problem because i am a gear head and i wouldn't have any problems learning..but B) i don't have a garage to work in as of now. I only have a covered drive way that i can use to park the truck. I am also looking for something that i can drive right away around the town.

Thanks again!

James

btw, this might be a stupid question but if i take the top off of this truck, do i need a roll cage? all the EB's that i've seen with top off has some sort of a roll cage which this one doesn't seem to have one unless i'm not seeing it in the picture.

I personally wouldn't drive around without the top if I didn't have a cage. There is just that saftey factor that I like...especially if you are in California where the traffic is 10x what it is here in Colorado. The other thing is that a lot of 4x4 clubs won't let you go on runs with them unless you have a factory hard top and/or a roll bar. There is a club here that I looked into that said you had to have the hard top and unless you had a roll cage you couldn't remove the top (Bronco, Jeep or anything else). They also required a full sized spare tire if you intended on doing any trail runs.

So in a nutshell, yeah, I would leave the top on until you got a good cage. I would do a minimum of a 6 point cage too.

i got a 6 pt roll cage here in colorado when i traded my camper that came with my early bronco. its the 4 wheel drive camper from the mid 80's ive heard tehre very rare. but i paid like 1500 for the truck with the camper on it. so i was happy with trading it for the huge pile of parts i got out of the deal. it wasnt in the greatest shape either. i got several offers on it for $600 but i would of rather had the parts that the guy offered me so i just went for. yada yada yada B) i just wish my truck didnt have so much rust on it....good luck finding a bronco. the one for 17.5k looks amazing. its hard to believe that all our broncos one day in time looked like that...amazing! > but i wouldnt go over 15k for that truck...17.5 seems to much to me...looks like he was asking 18.5k in that other ad....
