Today I Ran a wire from the P/LG wire to the Yellow wire on the motor and ran a wire from the P/LB wire to the Red wire on the motor and heres the deal..

It rolls down fine from the dash switch but it wont roll up. After checking the wires, as soon as I hook it up to the wire on the motor it seems to **** the power(I checked for a short but didnt find one) but when its unhooked from the motor it gets perfect power when I hit the dash switch.

At first I was quessing the the motor might be bad but I can roll it up/down fine with a car battery.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be wrong here?

Here a diagram of what I did.

youre sure theres no way youre still coming through the safety switch? what does it do if you hook the wires up backards? will down make it go up? maybe its just a bad switch? you are bypassing everything else according to this diagram, correct?

If you are actually hooked up as you show in the diagram, it should work. Like bobstrat said, it could be a bad dash switch. If you hold the switch in the UP position and don't get +12V at the yellow wire, the switch is bad. If you get it on the yellow wire and the red wire when the switch is in the UP then the problem is a failure to get a ground through the down side of the switch.

Good luck,

:)>-

Im about 100% sure im bypassing the safety switch,I tapped through the wires inbetween the body and the tailgate. hooked up backwords it rolls up but not down.

When its UNHOOKED from the motor, pressing the dash switch UP the P/LG gets 12+volts, pressing the dash switch DOWN the P/LB wire gets 12+volts.

When its HOOKED to the motor, pressing the dash switch UP the P/LG gets 12+volts, pressing the dash switch DOWN the P/LB wire gets 0volts.

right, but if it works with the key switch and youve ruled out the motor with the car battery trick, then alls thats left is the dash switch.
