Hi, last week my brakes failed to some extent. I was halfway to work so proceeded there. When I got there the rear brake reservoir was virtually empty. I drove about 1 mile to get some brake fluid, filled it up and went back. They didnt get any better but I could stop, I assumed with my front brakes.
Anyway, we replaced a leaking brake line to the rear brakes and they didnt get any better. In fact, another brake line had rotted. So we replaced that. No better. We jacked it up and I get NO BRAKES at all. Nothing at all happens when I step on the brake pedal. But I obviously have front brakes.
My husband was able to get the brakes to work manually under there with a wrench but when the brake pedal is applied, nothing whatsoever happens.
So, the question is, is it the master cylinder? drums themselves? Something else? Could it be the power booster even tho I still seem to have front brakes?
Thanks for any advice.
