Well I have been told no question is a dumb one. I have a few and am hoping they wont waste your guys time.

I have a 1979 Bronco.

1.) What is a divorced transfer case?

2.) If I change from a standard transmission to a C6 will the tail of the c6 bolt up to the transfer case or will I need an adapter?

3.) How much suspension lift can I go with and not have to change the steering components?

4.) Can I buy after-market heavier yokes for the 3rd member?

5.) Is there an upgraded cross member under the transfer case that can handle more HP than normal?

I am sure there will be many more to come, these are just the first I have been stewing on.

Thanks!

Here's some answere's for you.

1. A divorced transfer case is when the transfer case isn't bolted directely to the back of the tranny. It's connected with a short driveshaft.

2. Yes it will, but since the C6 is a longer transmission than a manual, you will need the spacer piece between the C6 for you to make the switch.

3. I think with a 4" lift you will probably have to start to change some thing's.

4. Yes you can, they make a ton of aftermarket stuff for the 9" rear's.

5.You will be good with the factory crossmember. I know quit a few people with 700 horse big block's with the stock crossmember.
