ok so after tossing and turning all night long and waking up thinking about ARB components and imagining an axle literally floating in front of me, I think I have figured out what I want.

35" tires with the 8.8" rear already installed

Pro comp 6" front/4" rear suspension lift and lose the body lift

Cut out my fenders for good clearance

Dana 44 in the front is what I believe I already have

Just like shift said, some lockers.

Anybody else have any suffestions?

6" lift on ttb can get interesting if you plan on driving this truck on the road which is why i suggested only running 2" lift and cutting what got in your way. I dont know that you are buying yourself much by running 6" if you just plan on mudding the truck. I have seen 35s on stock suspension before with cut fenders. I can see a lot of lift for ground clearance/flex if you are planning on doing technical trails. I think to do a 6" ttb lift right it gets expensive but i have never done one personally. I had a truck with 35s and a 6" lift but it was only street driven(and not for long).

its hard to tell because of the shadow but the ground clearance at the axles between the bronco and truck isnt much. Sure there is tons of body clearance but i dont know what it will buy you. Between the two i would take the bronco on stock lift more places

there are two downfalls with running a lifted ttb

biggest is you'll never keep it aligned. if you're not driving on the street not and issue. **** my steering wheel has been twisted to the left for well over a year now

the other downfall is the tires going in whatever direction they want to when you are bouncing through the mud. more times then i can count my wheels have been all over the place, but enough skinny pedal will get you through almost anything lol

there's lots of anti ttb people out there, but it is a very workable suspension. much better then a full ifs set up. and it's really not all that expensive. i picked up my entire kit (minus the rear springs) for $1500 shipped to my door

my question would be are the trails in your area that extreme that you will require one ton running gear
or do you want one ton running gear to "be one of the cool guys"

i'm really not meaning to sound abbrasive here, but if you are going to be running less then 38" tires which you previously stated then why put the extra money into the heavy drive train

go back and listen to what the others have told you. learn your truck first. learn what it's capable of as a rig, and what you are comfortable with as a driver and then make your decision based on what YOU want, not based on what someone "thinks" you should have
Hey I have one ton running gear now, am I a cool guy now?

My Bronco is an 89, it had a 3 inch body lift and 33 inch tires. Every thing else was stock. I wheeled with that setup for 3 years. My only limiting factor was tire height, meaning I only got stuck in places my tires were off the ground. I ran 33 inch BFG mud terrains and those tires are awesome. From my personal experience my favourite setup is 6 inch lift, 35 inch BFG Mud Terrains and 4.56 gears locked front and rear. You run that and you will be very happy.

I guess i may have miss spoke. There is nothing wrong with the ttb setup. Its a great setup especially if you plan to drive the truck on road at any sort of speed or even off road fast. But when you start lifting it more than a few inches you start to run into alignment issues like miss kiten said. This may or may not even be an issue for you. It is definitely a better setup than other IFS, especially in a lifted scenario.

this is the most complete gathering of info i have found
