Hi All,

I'm a noob to the Bronco. I just sold my 1964 Ford Mustang Coupe with 289 V8 Automatic and purchased a 1971 Bronco U100 Wagon with a freshly rebuilt 289 V8 and manual 3 speed with the floor shifter conversion.

I plan on driving this around town and some light trail duty maybe. Nothing too serious. I like the combination of a V8 Manual with the ability to be a convertable and the utility + classic car status with no smog, etc.

Some questions:

1. I'd like to upgrade the stock lapbelts on the driver and passenger side to a 3 point retractable or a three point harness that attaches to the roll bar or similar. Anyone done this? Suggestions to products and links to photos of your setup?

2. I'm also considering upgrading the seats to a high-back bucket. Looking at some on Bronco Graveyard. I'd like to pay around $200-$300 per seat new and cloth or similar is fine since I don't have A/C and live in Georgia. Vinyl will be too sticky and hot. Cloth or Neoprene. I'm looking at the Corbeau GTS II Gray. Anyone have these? Do I need special brackets to install aftermarket seats?

3. Anyone know of a good shop in Atlanta (NW Marietta, Cobb County is my location) that knows how to work on these trucks and can perform some upgrades and modificaitons? I'd like to upgrade the (4) drum non-power brakes to a power (4) disc brake set-up or front disc/rear drum.

I don't have the Bronco yet. It is in Utah and won't get here until mid-Feb. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions, but first I need to search through the posts and educate myself.

Seats

TIA,

Copper

OK, looks like Tom's has a nice 3-point kit made to mount to the roll bar. Anyone have this kit? Is the installation pretty easy? Also looks like there are some good seats to choose from as well.

There are seatbelt systems in all the Early Bronco rags....& most auto parts stores. Just depends on your flavor.. There will be seatbelt mount holes already there (in your rig)....except the top/shoulder but very easy to install.. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I got Toyota seats at the boneyard...$25 ea. They're cloth & very adjustable & very comfortable. The main thing is they're low enough so you're not looking at the top of this short windshield. I then put real sheepskins over them.

Cool in summer/warm in winter. (can get 115deg. here in this desert) I spent $100 total & made my own brackets out of angle-iron. That helped keep them low as well.

Are you into saving $$$...?? :D/

BTW nice look'n rig........... B)
