agreed, great rig to take the kids to the soccer game in, just be careful not to hit a pothole, might spill your latte and make "Finding Nemo" skip.

Kinda like it cause it looks sorta like a 1st gen but also kinda looks like a hummer wana be. Wouldn't have a problem with a diesel even a V-6 no smaller don't know if that front wheel 4WD is such a 'better idea". Gave this the yuppie rating could use a little more truck bulit into it.

Crappy drive train and too electronically dependent. The more electronics the more often it will be down due to bad sensors.

) New Bronco, great idea. However, where is the "BRONCO?" The attraction to the original was the raw ruggedness. Ford is apparently reaching out the "City Slicker" Bronco owner. How can Ford bring the unrivaled beast that was the Mustang back to life and yet send a Philly/Colt out to represent the Bronco of old. Close, but unfortunately, try again.

Ok..Ok...who let the Xterra guy in here?

I came by to see what y'all were saying about the Concept Bronco. I loved what I saw, but then again, I like the smaller trucks.

But after reading Ford Ruins Bronco, I cannot imagine buying one. The Ford Gelding is more appropriate.

I like the body design but again keep it simple, If they're going to call it a Bronco then, RWD, Removable top, (if they wanna copy the original the doors better come off too) build it out of something stranger than tinfoil so you can actually wheel it, the diesel might not be a bad choice if you can wheel it, the torque would be killer for climbing, seal the inside so after you've been mudding you could hose it out without frying something......well, I like the body.

Give it a name other than Bronco and I think it would deserve the share of the market that it obviously will get. Ford did such a great job with its other retro vehicles (the Thunderbird, and the Mustang) it would be a shame to ruin that track record by building a Bronco that you cant take wheelin right of the showroom floor. Give it a frame and two solid axles and I will stand in line to get one.

I hate it! With all my heart!! It looks like a wanna be jeep/hummer. I cant believe that some people like it! It looks like shit really! I hate it!! It looks like a *****. I would die laughing if i was out in the mud/dirt/dry lakebed and see one of those rollin around. As soon as it hits the showroom floor some rapper is gonna pick it up and drop it to the ground put some big ass rims on it and muder the whole concept behind the bronco....freedom, The power to dive where ever you want, whenever. You know pack a grip of friends in the back pull the top off and drive.....It makes me sad that "technology" Is hurting this beautif,HARD,TUFF clasic!!!

I like it, I agree its not up to Bronco standards and all, but its pretty cool to me. I am a fan of Land Rovers also, that might be an influence in my decision. Dont call it a Bronco, maybe the new escape or something

I think it looks pretty nice as compaired to the other crap that is on the current new market place!! Maybe Ford can make somthing to go ofter Toyotas little FJ!! As long as the dont changed it to much it would be great! The FJ is something they need to go after before they take over the smaller SUV market. They had them on the test track at last years SEMA show in vegas and they were getting a lot of attention!! Be nice if we could see NEW fords out there again!

Unveiled this year at the North American International Auto Show, a concept version of Ford's pioneering 1960s sport utility vehicle retains the original Bronco's authentic, no-nonsense design and adds a turbocharged diesel engine for added kick.
Bronco_FrontQtr.jpg

While other sport utilities become more civilized, the Bronco concept bucks this trend in a simple two-seat design that features the same rugged good looks as its predecessor. It is instantly recognizable in shape. Reminiscent of the original Bronco are its boxy, upright roofline, short wheelbase, signature round headlamps and the Bronco name integrated into a modern three bar grille.

Bronco_Profile.jpg

"True to its heritage, the Bronco concept is a tough, genuine SUV that's all about function," says J Mays, Ford Motor Company group vice president of design. "It's like a claw hammer in a box full of department store, battery-operated, plastic, power tools."

Subtle exterior details include exposed door hinges, cowl vents, flared wheel wells and unique loop-shaped door handles, which are integrated into the door panels and open with a gentle tug. Those classic round headlamps up front are updated in the Bronco concept for use of both light-emitting diodes and halogen light sources to cast a wider ray of light for better peripheral vision in off-road situations.

For a more open-air ride, the Bronco concept's roof is made up of two separate sections, the rear portion of which can be removed. Roll bar accents can then be attached for a look that recalls a Baja racer or the customized "Baja Broncos" Ford offered in the 1970s.

Bronco_InstrumentPanel.jpg

A monotone color scheme flows seamlessly from the Bronco concept's exterior body panels to its interior surfaces.

A monotone color scheme features warm metallic gray finish coupled with brushed aluminum accents and flows seamlessly from the Bronco concept's exterior body panels to its exposed interior surfaces. Both seats are trimmed in orange brown suede, like a workman's glove, and are accented with similarly colored inserts and a four-line stitching pattern, like the kind found on a rugged old tool belt.

"The Bronco concept is like your favorite pair of worn in, faded jeans

2.0 Liter 4-banger? Front wheel Drive? Paddle shifters? No Horsepower, No torque. This concept vehicle has NO RIGHT to be called a BRONCO!! I can't express how dissapointed I am in Ford. I would rather CASTRATE myself than drive this ***** mobile!! Ford, I believe that this vehicle might actually sell if it had a DECENT ENGINE, (at least a 5.0 Diesel) and REAR-WHEEL DRIVE, and for all the PURE BRONCO MEN out there, offer a stick shift.
