Hello all,
I just registered with this group and am impressed by what I have seen so far.
I bought a 1979 Bronco custom with the original 315M/400 in it. According to the guy I bought it from, it ran ok when he drove it but it was parked for over a year and a half. He originally started to restore it and in the process removed the A/C compressor and it's components, the alternator, starter, radiator, and transmission cooler.
I got it all back together yesterday with very little trouble and in the process changed the oil and redid the antifreeze (kind of had to). When I hooked up the battery and tried to start it, all it does is crank. It doesn't even act like it wants to catch. I tried priming the carb and cleaning the battery terminals. Is it possible that the timing could have gotten out of whack after being parked that long? All wiring, etc was put back together with no worries so I don't think it's an electrical problem. Any hel is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
