Hi. I just got a '76 thursday, and that night the passenger door stopped opening for me. wasn't even the door that the door post had rusted, but oh well. didn't think it was a big deal, b/c i was basically just like i will take the door panel off, and rehook or unjam whatever it is. the problem is, i took out all the screws only to realize the armrests seem to be part of the entire door panel. so i went to take that off, and as dumb as it sounds, no tool seems to fit it. i looked all over the net for a schematic, but everything is '78+ that i found so far.

does anyone know what tool is needed to remove the armrests? i looked at them with a flashlight, and they look almost round, but kinda hex too. don't know if they are just worm, too dirty to tell, or something i don't know about.

thanks for any help to solve this really stupid problem.

You will need a 3/8" nut-driver or deep-well socket, unless the P.O. replaced the screws with something else.
