Well then I'm guessing you have an F-truck right ? I'm thinking a half 77'/half 79' Bronco would be and interesting ride :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> The 300 shares a common bellhousing pattern with the Ford smallblocks, 289, 302, 351W. It also shared a bellhousing pattern with the 351M/400/429/460 but I'm, not sure off the top of my head if *all* engines have the same pattern, might be big & smallblock patterns, truth be told it's been a few years since I needed to know :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Also, you'll need to use the correct flywheel for the engine you install. Each engine requires it's on flywheel depending upon how it's balanced (internally or externally) and getting it wrong will *really* bum you out.

300 six , 289 , 302 , 351W , 351C , all small block pattern 351M , 400 , 429 , 460 all big block pattern then theres the FE,s . Just make sure you use the correct V8 flywheel or it will vibrate a bit and its ******* the motor :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm new to this also. I have a 390FE froma 66 thunderbird. Can I swap it in my 74 bronco without cutting up the engine bay? Will it bolt up to my NP435 or do I need to swap the trans too?

If its a 2 wh drive tranny youll need to change the main shaft and the tail adapter to put a T Case behind it . Im not sure on the size of the early engine bay size because I dont have one but Im guessing that they never came with a big block so there will be some cutting . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
