making a inertia switch to a safty switch!!

What exactly would i have to do to convert my inertia switch to a safety switch i have an 1986 ford ranger stx

It is already a safety switch. It's function is to keep the fuel pump from pouring gas all over the engine in the event of an accident. Do not interfere with it's assigned function. What were you planning on using it for? If anything get another one or just a plain switch.

im wanting to make so that i can flip the switch so that no fuel can get to the engine as an anti-theft im poor i live in a poor area so yea have to own a gun cuz people have tryed to steal my truck like 3 times its a nice one!!!!

You could put a switch under you dash that will cut power to the starter. It'll be a blue wire with a red stripe. Also, there are three yellow wires (if they're in a yellow or black sleave don't touch, that'd be the airbag wires and that's bad juju). One yellow is a power to the engine, one is for iginition power to the stereo and one for ignition power to the A/C and heat. If you can figure out what yellow wire is to your "main power" you can cut it and put in a rocker or some sort of switch in an "un-noticable" place that you'll have to hit before the engine will run.

I agree with tapping in a toggle switck somewhere. Just put it in a very off the wall spot. First thing a car thief is going to do is look for a switch in plain view. But they do not wanna spend time searching for one. If you really wanna get crafty, you can run the solinoid trigger wire through a relay and have it only power up with something else on. ie: brake lights, wiper switch, parking lights.
