( I live on Maui and have been looking around for a 5.5 in lift. I just bought a 74 from alabama and should be here soon I found a couple of what I beleive to be good lifts but the cost to ship it to hawaii cost as much as the lift itself ($450.00-$500.00). any suggestions on how to keep the cost down.

You could go with a James Duff 3.5 suspension set up and do a 2" body lift. They are on the West coat in Washington so the shipping would most likley be the best too.
I just did a 2" lift from them and plan to do the 1" body lift as well.
