I have a 1995 XLT, I have been experiencing leaks from right above the rear ash trays on both side now for some time. They keep getting worse and I wouldn't know the first step on how to fix it. I appreciate any tips I can get. The most details I can give are that the leaks seem to come from between the rear side windows and the ash tray/cup holder area, and leak directly onto my rear speakers (which is obviously not good)

It sounds like the top was removed at some point and when reinstalled it was slid into place folding the gasket or otherwise displacing it. I'd start by removing the top, ck'g the gasket & maybe replacing it. This isn't a major deal, it's a gasket issue. You can fix in half of an afternoon.

i had this same problem when i lived in SE Alaska where it rains upwards of 190 inches a year. put a new seal on the fiberglass top, had new seals put in on the side windows, had the roof line checked and resealed. Took all the inner panels and roof liner off to see if i could find water trails or residue but could never find the problem. Until i moved i just kept a chamois stuffed into ashtray slot to collect the water and then would squeeze it dry everyday and replace. worked great but frustrated to no end about not finding the leak. i think it might be design flaw but doesn't show up unless your in a lot of rain. sorry cant be more help

Broncobill you were exactly right that was the problem, it took me a little longer the expected because of the rain but It's all fixed now and does not leak anymore, thanks for your help.

i used to take my top off weekly and never had a leak problem. my 85 only has a gasket up front and the bottom just has a chanel that is supposed to keep water out. It may not be that your gasket is bad, it may just be that your top isnt on far enough or not tightened down properly. ive never pulled a 95 top off but where does the wiring go for your high mount brake light? is it possible the wires/connector are pressing the gasket and allowing water to leak?
