The twin stick allows you to engage either the front only, the rear only, or both, whereas the J or T shifter engages both or rear only. It gives you a choice of running in 2wd high or low and 4wd H & L. The other thing if you price them out, Wild Horses sells the J-shifter kit for $185 and the twin stick replacement kit for $150. Personally, I like the twin stick. I have it on my 48 Willys and wish I had the time & money to swap it into my EB. It is nice for the reasons I said, but it also keeps people from wanting to drive your rig....they are scared of all the levers
