UPDATE: The long and winding road to repairing the ABS system took a big leap yesterday with install of the 4WABS HCU picked from a 60k mile '96 donor Bronco. It's electric motor was bench tested first to ensure function; the old one was tested too and it has an open circuit. But the ABS light is still on so chasing down codes 41/42 front brake sensors and code 65 Acceleration Sensor. Did not get a code 11 (Control Module) even though these are known to go bad if the HCU fails. Fun and games!
Success at last! The ABS light is off and stays off. Only took 7 months 😆. Last week I installed the last of three main ABS components, the Acceleration Module. The old one was cracked possibly from internal corrosion. Thanks to Steve Byars for that part and info.0ECA9355-51AF-465B-B10A-EC21A24AB6C0.jpeg
