I don't have a pick of what I see now but I have a hose (about 6") coming from a double pipe running along side the engine that points straight down towards the ground that is not attached to anything. It has no home and I can't find its home. I believe it was broken off at a shop though I had them search for where it goes they don't know either. I believe they knocked off while doing my tune up. Either way they are stupid and I have to find the home for this hose. Can any one help. Before I try again tomorrow.

With the engine running stick your finger over the end of the hose to see if it's pulling a vacuum. If it is than you have a vacuum leak & might have any number of minor & irritating problems because of it. Without knowing more about it it's hard to say much more than that about it.

Where about is it? Left upper bottom middle? where at? What is the side currently connected to?

Along the middle of the engine from the fan belt back the pipe curves up and hooks str8 back down towards the back of the engine. The hose starts at th e bottom of that pipe if that helps any.

If it is not pulling a vacuum then what may be the prolem or will it be even harder to tell or is there a valve in which air is pushed from the engine that it may go to.

Is there any way you can get a picture of what you're talking about so maybe we can get a better idea of what it may be? It sounds like a vac hose that goes to the EGR thingy. What year is your truck again? What engine?

I have a 1994 black and tan Eddie Bauer 351 engine. I will try to get a clear pic of it today. Thankx.
