Welcome to the Zone > . We don't yell at people here, even if you ask a question in the wrong forum, we just move the post.

A 460 is the largest engine I know of in any Bronco. It doesn't come with one but a lot of people stuff one in. It requires a serious upgrade to your running gear or you will be snapping axles. The C6 transmission is up to the challenge but you would have to get a different bell housing for it so you might as well find a donor F250 and use everything it has, like engine transmission, transfer case, front and rear axles. Check with Justshootme84, he is in the middle of this right now.

Good luck and post some pictures.

I am partial to a bored 351W H.O. You can get as much power from that with a few upgrades. You also wont have to switch out trannys either. Good luck and welcome to your new money pit. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Welcome to Bronco Zone!!! I used to have a 0.030" over 351W H.O. in my 84, but I now have a stock 460 from an 88 F-350 4WD truck. Look for a recent post on the 460 swap in the 80-96 forum, and good luck. It ain't cheap but well-worth the extra power, JSM84

Not a direct bollt in on your 84. You need to change the motor mounts, and use ones designed specifically for the swap like thhe L&L mounts I have from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. Check out that thread for pics, and look up other swaps folks have done. To post a pic, either add it into your message directly from your computer files, or copy & paste it from another website. IF you have a link to the site the pics are on, someone can post one here for you to show you how, JSM84

k so i guess my pics are bad after all i took them with my phone....damn technology. Another thing i forgot to mention was on first startup on a cold motor when i crank the wheel a very irritating sound comes from the power steering that sounds like a screech and like its gonna break. This sound then goes away after driving a little so i was wondering what can be done to stop this.

Sounds like the belt slippin on the ps pump pulley. Check the tension and the condition of the belt.

If you want to build something with grunt go for torque not horsepower. a 351 w/ a set of alum heads, cam, intake will be around 400 ft lbs of torque. that will launch you deep into the seats upon acceleration! also use an AOD trans and it will allow you to run deep gears like 5:38's. that'll make you launch like a rocket!

remember a big engine isnt worth a hill of beans if it isnt matched up to the whole drive train.

It would help to know what you have to start with, be it a 300I-6 or 351W, auto or manual tranny, and the rear axle. I think the 460/C6/NP205 combo is Ford's strongest and could handle a 514 (bored 460) up to 700 HP without too many upgrades. You have lots of options for the engine and tranny, so maybe we can help narrow it down. Lots of good suggestions already, JSM84
